2025 will be an exciting year for us!
Trusting that Christmas and New Years celebrations were safe and happy for all. We were blessed to spend time in Calgary with all of our adult children. We drove safely back and forth. We are feeling very ready to settle into January, sorting, reading and enjoying this time of year at home. All Saints Kitchen Renovation: Speaking of sorting, a huge thank you to all who helped in sorting and storing the All Saints kitchen contents in preparation for renovation. Deconstruction and construction will start very soon, and I for one am extremely excited to see the results within the next few months. The contractor will start in earnest during the week of January 13th. Plans are in place to complete the work by the end of March enabling us to celebrate Easter together in the hall April 20th! A special thanks to the kitchen team (Ruth Pepin, Molly Cunningham, Marjie Radford) led by John Metzger and Bill Morrison, who in consultation also with Colin Lawler have put the plans in place and will navigate us through this process. Thanks also to Joe who is ably managing our outside groups through this period. Bring a Coffee Mug to Church on Sundays: We still plan to enjoy a time of fellowship over coffee and tea after church services, but we ask you to provide your own mug! This will minimize the use of paper cups (hence garbage). Our hiring process continues in the new year and we hope to update you very soon. Rev Jenny Replogle from the diocese visited us in December and continues to guide us. Gabriel’s Kitchen had their last meal with us on December 26th. I visited the Warming Centre, up and running at Phoenix School site and will continue to touch base around needs. The Annual Vestry Meeting will be held after the service on February 16th 2025 – please mark your calendars! Those responsible for annual reports – please get them to Joe by January 20th so that Joe and John can compile the 2024 Annual Report. Thanks again to both for their work on this. We are back to weekly updates. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions you want answered or suggestions for Newsletter topics. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Ruth |
