Born in Catalonia, Carles visited Salt Spring for the first time in the mid 90's while doing a postdoc in physics at SFU. He became a part time resident after 2008 and a full time one in 2020.
Raised as a Roman Catholic, he felt at home in the less dogmatic and more progressive halls of the Anglican communion, at least the North American version where female priesthood and gay marriage do not raise too many brows. Being a cello player, the musical atmosphere of All Saints helps to make this home even cozier.
