Lynda grew up in Alberta but her dream then was to move to the Coast to enjoy the warmer climate with much less snow.
After a brief sojourn into Social Work, Lynda spent the rest of her professional life teaching Sociology in post-secondary institutions in Ontario and Vancouver. After retiring she moved to Salt Spring and joined the Church.
Africa has been a life long passion of hers so she started raising money on the Island, including donations from Outreach, and went to Kenya nearly every year from 2002 to 2017 where she carried out numerous projects.. She also developed the first university Criminology degree in Kenya. She has continued to support secondary students in Kenya.
Today Lynda continues to enjoy volunteer work on the Island.
