December 2024
This will be the last words until the New Year, so first let me say a very Merry Christmas and safe holidays to all. I will be travelling to Calgary to spend time with my adult children. Joe will be in the office next week, then out of the office from Dec 23rd to Jan 1st. Regular office hours resume Jan 2nd, 2025. The kitchen renovation will start in early January. Clean up of the kitchen pre-renovation will take place between Christmas and early January. All help is most welcome. Please let John Metzger know if you would like to help. Our hope is to reduce clutter in the new kitchen so sorting and purging will be a part of this process. We are very pleased that the Chuan Society (Gabriel’s Kitchen) have found space at the Phoenix School site. They will operate as a warming centre and meeting space. They are asking for donations to start operating. If you feel you can help please see the list provided in this link – click here. We have good news on the hiring process. We have 3 qualified applicants who have been vetted by the Diocese. Step one is for the Wardens to meet with Rev Jenny, the Canon for parishes in transition. After that, the Wardens and/or their designate will conduct ZOOM interviews with each of the candidates. A larger committee will be formed after the ZOOM interviews are completed. Our hope is that this process will go quickly but as yet we do not have a clear timeline. While the final results of our Stewardship Campaign are not in we do know that pledges increased. This is good news! I am so very grateful to all who help to support our community in any way they can. A blessed Christmas and looking forward to the New Year with Hope. Ruth |
